BASIC TRAINING IN OIL AND CHEMICAL TANKER CARGO OPERATIONS is a value-added familiarisation course designed in accordance with IMO STCW Regulation V/1-1 and V/1-2 and based on Model Course 1.01. It provides seafarers with essential knowledge of safe and efficient handling of oil and chemical cargoes on board tankers. The program covers the hazards of cargoes, tanker construction and equipment, cargo operation procedures, pollution prevention, emergency response and safety management. The course aims to prepare participants for working on tankers by enhancing their awareness of onboard risks and promoting safe practices during loading, discharge, tank cleaning and other critical operations.
