Requirements
  • To enroll in the Fast Rescue Craft Coxswain course, candidates must hold a valid ERRV Crew Fast Rescue Craft Boatman Certificate and have completed at least three months of sea service as an FRC boatman.
Outcomes
  • 1. Understand the roles and responsibilities of an FRC Coxswain in ERRV operations.
  • 2. Recognize and mitigate the effects of Whole Body Vibration on the FRC crew.
  • 3. Apply the Basic Rules of the Road (IRPCS) for safe navigation.
  • 4. Conduct rescue operations from liferafts, helicopters, and other systems to the FRC.
  • 5. Identify hazards and perform risk assessments when accessing installations in emergencies.

  • 14. Tow vessels of similar size to the FRC when needed.
  • 15. Maintain effective communication throughout FRC operations.
  • 20. Utilize emergency equipment as required during rescue missions.
