Offshore Manning Familiarization Course (OMFC) is a specialized training program designed for office bearers managing offshore activities, seafarers and offshore crew preparing to work on offshore installations such as MODUs (Mobile Offshore Drilling Units), FPSOs, fixed platforms, and offshore support vessels. The course provides essential familiarization with offshore job roles, manning requirements, safety procedures, emergency response, and operational systems. Key topics include offshore manning structures, duties of various ranks (OIM, DPO, BCO, Engineers, Drillers, Crane Operators, etc.), emergency drills, Permit to Work (PTW) systems, firefighting, and lifesaving appliances. The training also covers helicopter and boat transfer safety, regulatory documentation, and offshore work culture. The OMFC training ensures participants understand offshore life, safety protocols, and job responsibilities, making them ready for deployment.
