The Target group for Stage 3 is personnel that wish to become certified competent
Banksmen - having previously completed Banksman training, and/or
possess sufficient and relevant work experience to be eligible for the Stage 3 assessment
What will I learn?
- 1. Implementing the load-moving procedures effectively from the competent person’s lifting plan and risk assessment
- 2. The Banksman’s responsibilities under the Health and Safety Statutory requirements , How to establish the weight of loads
- 3. The company procedure for environmental conditions and the limits allowed , Checking the load rating and size of the lay down area
- 4. Discussing the lift with relevant personnel at a team briefing (TBT) , Confirming the weight of the load
- 5. The approved procedures and practices in the context of the operations, the work activity and the workplace
- 6. Approaching the load in its final destination when signalled by the Banksman , Storing slings and lifting accessories
- 7. The emergency stop signal that can be given by anyone to the crane operator , Route planning methods and techniques
- 8. Establishing and maintaining effective communications with the crane operator, slingers, and if appropriate the supply vessel
