Boat Transfer Training Course – 4 Hours

The Boat Transfer Training Course is a 4-hour safety training program designed to provide offshore, marine, and vessel personnel with essential knowledge and practical awareness for conducting safe boat transfer operations. The course focuses on the hazards, procedures, precautions, and emergency practices associated with transferring personnel between offshore installations, vessels, platforms, jetties, and crew boats.

Boat transfer operations involve significant risks due to vessel movement, changing weather and sea conditions, slippery surfaces, gaps between vessels and installations, and the potential for falls or man-overboard incidents. This course helps participants understand how to identify and control these risks through proper planning, communication, personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe working practices.

The training covers key topics including boat transfer procedures, pre-transfer safety checks, risk assessment, PPE requirements, safe boarding and disembarkation, vessel-to-installation transfer, communication protocols, weather and sea-state considerations, passenger responsibilities, emergency procedures, and man-overboard response. Participants will also learn about common hazards and unsafe practices that can lead to accidents during boat transfer operations.

The Boat Transfer Safety Training is suitable for offshore workers, marine crew, vessel personnel, contractors, supervisors, technicians, and other personnel who may be required to use boats or crew transfer vessels as part of their work.

On successful completion, participants will have a better understanding of safe boat transfer practices, hazard identification, risk control measures, emergency preparedness, and personal responsibilities during offshore marine transfers.
