Course Overview

The Basic First Aid Training Course provides participants with essential knowledge and practical skills to respond appropriately to common workplace injuries, illnesses and medical emergencies. The course focuses on recognising emergency situations, taking appropriate first-aid action, protecting the casualty from further harm and seeking professional medical assistance when required.

Participants are introduced to fundamental first-aid principles, including initial assessment, emergency response, basic life support, CPR, recovery position, choking, bleeding, shock, burns, fractures, sprains and other common workplace injuries.

First Aid Assessment and Emergency Response

The course explains how to approach an emergency safely and carry out an initial assessment of the casualty. Participants learn how to identify immediate dangers, assess responsiveness and breathing, raise the alarm, contact emergency medical services and provide appropriate first aid until further assistance arrives.

CPR and Basic Life Support

Participants learn the fundamentals of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and basic life support. The training covers recognising cardiac arrest, performing chest compressions and following appropriate emergency response procedures.
