LNG BUNKERING

LNG BUNKERING Course Overview & Training Details

LNG Bunkering Training provides participants with a basic understanding of the safe handling, transfer and bunkering of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) used as a marine fuel. The course covers LNG properties, hazards, bunkering systems, equipment, personal protective equipment, safe working procedures and emergency response. Participants will learn about the different LNG bunkering methods, pre-bunkering checks, communication, ship-to-ship and truck-to-ship operations, spill and leak prevention, fire safety and environmental considerations. The training is designed to help personnel understand the risks associated with LNG and follow safe procedures during bunkering operations. It is suitable for marine, port, terminal and LNG-related personnel.

Course overview

The LNG Bunkering Training Course is designed to provide maritime, offshore, port, terminal and marine-fuel personnel with practical knowledge of safe LNG bunkering operations. LNG is increasingly used as a marine fuel, but its cryogenic temperature, flammability and other hazards require proper procedures, equipment and emergency controls.

The course introduces participants to Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), its properties, hazards and safe handling requirements. It explains different LNG bunkering methods, including ship-to-ship, truck-to-ship and terminal-to-ship bunkering. Participants learn about bunkering preparation, communication, safety zones, transfer equipment, hoses, valves, connections, grounding, gas detection and personal protective equipment.

The training also covers LNG leak detection, emergency shutdown, fire prevention, spill response, emergency procedures and environmental protection. Participants are introduced to relevant international requirements and industry good practices, including the IMO IGF Code, STCW requirements and ISO 20519 for LNG bunkering.

This LNG Bunkering course is suitable for ship crew, terminal personnel, LNG fuel suppliers, marine operators, port personnel, contractors and other individuals involved in or supporting LNG fuel operations.
