Course overview
The knowledge and skills needed by participants to understand, interpret, document, and report on weather systems relevant to offshore helicopter operations are provided in the OMWIT course.
The course is conducted in conformity with IOGP 690-3 Chapter 14, UKCAA CAP 437, and WMO Ship's Weather Code 1982 to ensure that the participants are equipped with a good understanding of the principles of meteorology as they apply to offshore operations.

Target Audience

It would not be unusual for radio officers or HLOs on rigs to also bear the added responsibility for pre-flight communications with helicopter pilots.
