At the end of this comprehensive training, participants will be fully prepared to manage the winches  within safety limits, hence minimizing risks and ensuring smooth operations under unfriendly maritime conditions.


Target Group Winch Operator Course

Such staff that apply to work on the drilling rigs  need to be adequately trained in order to overcome the obstacles and risks of the operation offshore safely and efficiently. The nature of this training involves many facets of the rig operations such as drilling operations, use of equipment, and safety measures.

  • 7. Operate winches safely, including pre- and post-operation inspections.
  • 8. Assess load weight, center of gravity, balance, and dimensions accurately.
  • 9. Perform basic winch maintenance.
  • 10. Follow correct procedures for decommissioning winches.
  • 11. Understand safe working loads and their applications.
  • 12. Estimate weights for winch operations accurately.
  • 13. Use overload warning devices effectively.
  • 14. Apply operational safety knowledge in all winch activities.
Requirements
  • Minimum Age: 18 years.
  • Basic Literacy: Able to understand instructions.
  • Prior Experience: Preferably some winch or industrial experience.
  • Basic Safety Training: Courses like Working at Heights may be required.
  • Medical Fitness: Recent health certificate for physical suitability
  • PPE: Bring essential safety gear (helmet, harness, gloves, boots).
