This course trains Fast Rescue Craft /Boat Proficiency (FRC/FRB) personnel for offshore deployment to meet the standards of guidelines set by IOGP and IMO for RO-RO vessels. Participants receive the necessary competence to carry out the monitoring of emergencies at sea, inclusive of FRC duties, risk management, safety checks, use of equipment, and safe handling. This course is required under the law for seafarers working in the offshore and passenger ferry industries.

Requirements

Marine crew working in offshore fields and those taking up jobs on RO-RO passenger ferry.
Completion of STCW basic safety training.
Relevant experience in marine or offshore operations.
Valid medical fitness certificate.
Holding a valid seafarer certificate.
Minimum age of 18 years.
Meeting company or regulatory requirements.

Outcomes

1. Understand the construction, characteristics, and equipment of fast rescue boats.
2. Operate navigational, safety, and emergency equipment effectively.
3. Apply safety precautions during launch and recovery, including in rough seas.
4. Master boat handling in various weather and sea conditions, including towing and helicopter operations.
