Confined Space Rescue (CSR)

Confined Space Rescue (CSR) Course Overview & Training Details

Elite Offshore Pvt. Ltd. provides the specialized Confined Space Rescue (CSR) Training Course at our industrial safety facility in Navi Mumbai. Conducted in strict accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146 and 29 CFR 1926.1211 Guidelines, this intensive 1-day certification program equips emergency response teams, safety officers, and industrial workers with the advanced technical skills required to execute life-saving operations in high-risk, restricted environments. Confined spaces—such as storage tanks, silos, sewers, boilers, and underground tunnels—present complex hazards that require immediate, tactical rescue methods. This course bridges the gap between basic awareness and active technical rescue, training participants to deploy life-saving equipment, manage breathing systems under pressure, and safely extract casualties under emergency conditions.

Course overview

Our Confined Space Rescue training program focuses on practical, hands-on field simulations and structural engineering dynamics to prepare emergency teams for real-world scenarios.

The technical curriculum dives deep into the complex physics and medical challenges of spatial casualty extraction. Through a blend of immersive theoretical learning and high-intensity structural simulation drills, candidates build team-level competence in:

  • Atmospheric Assessment: Mastering immediate multi-gas detection and ventilation sequencing before team entry.

  • Respiratory Protection Mastery: Advanced practical staging, donning, and deployment of emergency breathing loops.

  • Technical Extraction Mechanics: Rigging mechanical advantage retrieval systems for vertical and horizontal configurations.

What will I learn?

  • 1. OSHA Compliance Standards: Master OSHA 1910.146 and 1926.1211 legal mandates for commercial general industry and construction sectors.
  • 2. Hazard & Atmosphere Analysis: Identify lethal spatial configurations, toxic vapors, oxygen deficiencies, and physical engulfment hazards.
  • 3. Permit-to-Work (PTW) Systems: Manage administrative safety loops, isolation procedures, and safety checklists.
  • 4. Advanced Respiratory Equipment: Hands-on inspection, donning, doffing, and deployment of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and Supplied Air Systems (SAS).
  • 5. Emergency Breathing Loops: Practical operation of Emergency Escape Breathing Devices (EEBD) and Air Line Cascade Loop systems in zero-visibility conditions.
  • 6. Technical Extraction (Horizontal & Vertical): Execute structural tripods, winch lines, retrieval harnesses, and mechanical hauling systems.
  • 7. Advanced Life Support: Practical deployment of Automatic Resuscitators and Automated External Defibrillators (AED) during trauma extraction.
Requirements
  • Due to the physically demanding nature of technical rescue drills, candidates must fulfill the following baseline criteria: Age Requirement: Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Medical Fitness: A valid medical certificate confirming physical fitness to operate in restricted spaces while carrying heavy equipment.
  • Prerequisites: Prior basic industrial safety training or Confined Space Entry awareness certification is recommended.
  • Performance Standard: Full attendance, active participation in practical rescue drills, and passing the final theoretical and practical proficiency exams.
