  • Select, use, and maintain appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with 29 CFR 1910 Subpart I
  • Apply lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures to control hazardous energy during equipment servicing and maintenance (1910.147)
  • Identify permit-required confined space entry requirements and implement safe entry programmes (1910.146)
  • Recognise electrical hazards and apply safe electrical work practices in accordance with Subpart S
  • Implement machine guarding standards and safe practices for machinery operation and maintenance (Subpart O)
  • Apply safe materials handling procedures for powered industrial trucks, cranes, hoists, and slings (Subpart N)
  • Interpret Hazard Communication (HazCom/GHS) standards — including Safety Data Sheets (SDS), chemical labelling, and employee training obligations (1910.1200)
  • Apply hazardous materials handling requirements for flammable liquids, compressed gases, and toxic substances
  • Conduct basic workplace safety inspections, identify non-compliance with 29 CFR 1910, and implement corrective actions
  • Demonstrate an understanding of their personal responsibilities in building and sustaining a compliant, safe general industry workplace
Requirements
  • Basic familiarity with general industry workplace environments (manufacturing, warehousing, utilities, healthcare, or similar sectors)
  • Minimum 1–2 years of work experience in a general industry setting (Intermediate level)
  • Ability to read and understand written English (all course materials are in English)
  • Access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet connectivity (for online participants)
  • Completion of OSHA 10-Hour General Industry training is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Willingness to engage actively in discussions, exercises, and scenario-based assessments throughout the course
