Key Responsibilities of a Lifeguard

Enforcing Pool Rules: An important aspect of a lifeguard's role is enforcing pool rules to maintain a safe environment. - 3. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, AED and First Aid : Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) First Aid Automated External Defibrillation (AED)
- 4. Practical pool assessment : Deep Water Retrieval Test – ability to retrieve an object from the deepest water within the aquatic environment
- 5. Lift Test – ability to lift a swimmer out of the water (using appropriate manual handing procedures)
- 6. Rescue Test – 25 metre swim / 25 metre non-contact tow in less than 1 minute and 45 seconds

- Minimum Age: Must be at least 16 years old.
- Swimming Proficiency: Strong swimming skills, including the ability to swim a specific distance (e.g., 200 meters).

- First Aid and CPR Certification: Must have or complete first aid and CPR certification.
- Language Proficiency: Basic understanding of English (or local language).
- Practical Training: Willingness to participate in hands-on training exercises.
